"amor vincit omnia"
So I've got pictures from this last weekend but need to get off the camera...they're from Alexander's first St. Patricks Day Parade in Henderson. :) So in the mean time I'm just going to post some random pictures my Mom had on her cell phone of lil Man. xo
Picture 1 - Lil Man in his jumper, he's finally get the hang of the whole jumping thing!
Picture 2 - We had dinner at Grama Cheryl and Grandpa Jeffs house last night, Grama Cheryl took this picture of me and lil Man. He's decided that he likes water bottles. :)
Picture 3 - Thor decided lil Man's legs looked cold so he was going to keep them warm...what a nice little puppie. hehe
Picture 1 - Grandpa Jeff and lil Man on the back portch.
Picture 2 - Grama Cheryl and lil Man on the back portch.
Picture 3 - Lil Man riding in the real jeep...
Picture 4 - ...after he decided he wanted to ride in HIS jeep.
Picture 5 - Alexander and his Uncle Russ and Uncle Bryan down in the shop WORKIN'!
So one of the great things about the time change is that I can pick up lil Man and be home before it's dark outside! I never realized how awesome this was until yesterday when lil Man and I went on a walk. The weather was awesome and we were able to walk for about an hour before the street lights came on.
I'd love to make this a daily thing, I just wish Daddy got home from work in time to go with us! The only nice thing about Justin not being there is that I don't have to run just to keep up with him and his Spider Monkey legs. :) I used to be able to blame my falling behind on being pregnant (I waddled), I don't really have that excuse anymore. Although, if Justin did go...the running would probably be good for me (I used to be able to run 2 miles in under 20 minutes), I'll get back to that eventually.
Right now, I'm just going to enjoy my family!
I have been able to START to fit back in my pre-pregnancy clothes which is encouraging. I'm no where near the shape I was in during the summer of 2007, but since it took me 9 months to put on this weight...I'm giving myself AT LEAST that, to take it off. The way I figure it is...Justin and I have the most handsome, healthy, HAPPY baby boy...and if all the weight I gained helped make him that way, I'd do it all over again (which we will...eventually) in a heart beat!
xo
(seriously, what's with the fish!)
So on Sunday me, Justin, lil Man, Jeffy, Summer, Joey, Darcie, Braelynn and Hudson all met up at Floyd Lamb State Park.
Yep. It's true. My 5 month old has his first two bottom teeth. No wonder Sunday night/Monday morning was HELL, his second tooth was coming in! Poor lil Man.
The good news is that he FINALLY got in a good nights sleep last night, he was in bed at 9pm and Daddy actually had to wake him upthis morning at 7am to get him ready. He hasn't slept through the night in just about a month! Mommy definitely needed the rest, after a VERY long Sunday and a practically sleepless Sunday night/Monday morning, a full night of uninterrupted sleep is exactly what I needed. :)
I got to talk to Dad Scott this morning, man we miss him! ::waves hi to Dad Scott and Pam:: Hi guys!! xoxo
Gotta get up and get some coffee, even with my full night of sleep...I still need a lil kick in the morning.
Happy Tuesday to all!

So Justin and I got up at 4:30am on Sunday morning (after staying the night at my parents house so that we could get up that early w/o having to load lil Man up in his car seat and chance waking him) to meet up with his brother Jeff and his brother's girlfriend, Summer out at Sunset Point (I think that's the name of the overlook) at Lake Mead for some early morning fishing in a friend's tournament bass boat.
Can I just say that it wasn't THAT cold until Justin started driving across the lake at 65mph! Don't get me wrong, it was cold...but 45 degrees feels WAY colder when you're out in the open doing 65. And seriously, who knew that bass boats could do 65+ mph?
Anyway...
We get a late start and don't actually get on the water until about 5:45am (after making a pit stop at the gas station where I loaded up on coffee - which would prove to be somewhat of a mistake since there's really no bathrooms on the water, at least where we were fishing...and it's just too damn cold to jump in and take care of business), race across the water to the fishing spot, bust out the gear and drop the hooks in the water. Fishing at 6am is probably my favorite time...the water is glass, it's quiet except for the ducks and the sound of the fish jumping out of the water. It doesn't get much better than that.
Now we're in this high tech tournament bass boat, fish finder and all. Wouldn't you know that we didn't catch a single fish!? lol Apparently the glasses (to cut the glare) that Justin found didn't exactly help us, he did look the part of pro-fisherman though (whoo hoo!).
Jeff and Summer had to take off around 10am , Jeffy had to get into work...so after we dropped them off, Justin and I headed to the closest marina and bought some anchovies, hopeing it would increase our chances of catching something. It didn't (maybe next time Justin will listen to my idea of a "fish head/tail chum slick" - hehe). But he and I had a helluva time hanging out in the 70+ degree weather, basking in the sun. We fished until 11:45am when we realized what time it was (his Mom and Aunt were flying into town and their plane was due to land at 12:30pm), we pulled in our hooks...anchovies still attached and headed back to where we launched.
Originally our plan was to get off the water early enough to drop the truck and boat off at the house, pick up the Escalade, pick up lil Man and head for the airport. It didn't exactly work out that way. Instead we picked up lil Man in the truck with the boat still attached and we were on our way. It was kinda funny pulling up to passenger pick up with a boat attached to the truck, I've never seen that before...but this is Vegas, so I'm sure it's happened. Not that it mattered much, we pulled up to the curb and his Mom and Aunt were already throwing their bags in the back and jumping in the cab of the truck...they couldn't wait to see Alex, it had been WAY too long since he had seen his Grammy Joanie and Aunt Konnie last.
It was an awesome Sunday, to say the least!
